Used in Herbal Medicine to relieve the pain associated with menstruation.
Dosage:
Adults: Take 0.7 mL (21 drops) 3 times daily in a little water on an empty stomach. If the minimum dose is well tolerated and if symptoms have not improved, increase the dose to 1.8 mL (54 drops) three times per day.
Cautions and Warnings:
Consult a health care practitioner before use: if you are taking birth control pills, blood thinners, or hormone replacement therapy; if you have a family history of cancer. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, ultraviolet light (UV) or UV therapy. Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms worsen or persist.
Contraindications:
Do not use: if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; if you have diarrhea or hemorrhagic diseases; if you have hypermenorrhea/profuse menstrual flow/heavy periods; if you have allergy/hypersensitivity to members of the Apiaceae/Umbelliferae family (anise, caraway, carrot, celery, dill, parsley). Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner: if menstruation is delayed or absent, or if you experience increased menstrual bleeding time; if you experience breast pain or breast discomfort and/or tenderness.
