Revival of Ancestral Wisdom That’s Rigorously Tested
Glandular therapy has been a cornerstone of traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years, based on the belief that consuming specific animal tissues strengthens the corresponding systems in humans. But this practice isn’t unique to East Asia—our own grandparents and great-grandparents, as well as many Indigenous cultures, regularly cooked with organ meats, valuing their nutrient density and purported benefits. In more recent generations, culinary traditions involving organ meats have declined, often due to taste preferences, despite the nutrients remaining just as beneficial. Supplements like Kidney Glandular provide a modern, convenient way to reconnect with this time-honoured practice without the barriers of preparation or flavour. New Roots Herbal’s Kidney Glandular is formulated from 100% pure, freeze-dried bovine kidney tissue. This preservation process locks in a high concentration of unaltered nutrients to deliver clean, gland-specific support. Our glandulars are sourced exclusively from grass-fed New Zealand cattle—animals raised without antibiotics, hormones, or pesticides, and free from exposure to BSE thanks to New Zealand’s strict agricultural policies. Every batch is rigorously tested in our ISO 17025–accredited laboratory, ensuring purity and safety.

The Body’s Natural Filter
Every day, kidneys filter your blood, removing waste and excess fluids that are then excreted through urine. They also help regulate blood pressure, maintain proper levels of electrolytes such as sodium and potassium, and support the production of red blood cells by releasing key hormones. In short, kidneys act as filters—keeping the body’s internal environment stable so that all systems can function smoothly and efficiently.
Clues Your Kidneys May Need Support
- Occasional water retention or bloating
- Feeling fatigued or low in energy
- Occasional achiness around the lower back area
- Changes in fluid balance or urinary patterns
