Traditionally used in herbal medicine to reduce excess perspiration

Sage has been used in Europe for centuries as a spice and as medicine. It has been used as an anti-microbial to treat colds and flus as well as aid in menopausal symptoms such as hot flushing and excess perspiration. Clinical trials conducted with Sage have also demonstrated improvement in mood, cognition, and memory, possibly helping with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Recommended adult dose: 2 capsules 2 times daily or as directed by a health care practitioner. Consult a health care practitioner for use beyond 4 months.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the purpose of taking Sage? Sage helps to cool the body – regardless of where the body’s “heat” is coming from or what it is being caused by – for example: perspiration, night sweats, hot flashes, etc.

Where is the Sage sourced from?
The source of the Sage is dried leaves and it is of European origin.

Can I take Sage if I am pregnant or when I am breastfeeding?
Sage taken medicinally (ie/in tincture or standardized extract form) is contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.  Sage in the form of an herb for culinary purposes is fine however.

Can I take Sage if I am done breastfeeding, but my milk supply is not diminishing?
Yes, sage is an astringent herb and can be helpful to dry up breast milk production.

I am in menopause, but other than hot flashes I have no other symptoms.  Could I take Sage all on its own?
Yes, for sure!  Sage works incredibly well and very quickly for relieving hot flashes.

I am a male, with hot flashes and perspiration issues.  Can I take Sage from your WomenSense line?
Yes, there would be no problems with men taking sage for excess perspiration, but men who experience hot flashes should perhaps (in addition to supplementing with Sage) consult their ND or GP for a checkup as this can sometimes indicate underlying hormone issues.

Is WomenSense Sage gluten free?
Yes, we do have confirmation on file that there is no gluten added and no gluten present in the WomenSense Sage formula.  However, our manufacturing facility is NOT a gluten free facility, and as we do process products that contain gluten we are unable to confirm 100% that there is no possibility of cross contamination.
